Our Specialisation
We specialise in the design, development, and manufacture of industry-leading propulsion systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Our development process combines innovation with precision engineering. Through rigorous testing, we optimise every engine for performance, durability, and efficiency. We manufacture our engines in state-of-the-art facilities in Perth, Western Australia. Our streamlined processes and strict quality controls ensure every system meets the highest standards. From precision machining to final testing, we deliver reliable, world-class propulsion systems at scale.
Our Leadership
Executives

Stephen was appointed as Orbital's Chief Executive Officer in May 2025. He has over 10 years of experience as a company Founder, CEO, Board Member and Advisor to several early-stage technology companies. Stephen was the CEO of Carbonix, Australia's largest manufacturer of long-range drones.
Stephen is an internationally renowned aviation expert with over 35 years of experience in commercial and military aircraft design and production.
He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Australia and holds an Executive MBA in addition to his engineering degree. In the past 15 years, Stephen has held executive management positions at multiple global aerospace companies, where he was responsible for managing and delivering major airframe projects.

Mark Wege was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Orbital in December 2024. Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
He is a highly experienced senior executive with a strong background and over 30 years of experience across manufacturing, engineering, research & development and automotive industries.
Skilled in team strategic planning, financial management& analysis, contract negotiation and stakeholder management, Mark provides expertise and strategic value to the Company’s senior executive team.
Board of Directors

Kyle joined the Orbital Board as a Non-Executive Director on 1 May 2018, and become the Chairman of Orbital's Board in December 2025 . Kyle is an experienced aerospace and defence industry executive who brings vast relevant experience to the Board of Orbital.
Kyle was Managing Director of Western Australian Specialty Alloys (WASA) from 1996 to 2015. During this period, WASA grew from a Western Australian specialised alloy manufacturer to become a major supplier to the global aerospace industry with key customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan.
In 2000, Kyle managed the successful sale of WASA to United States based Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC), an S&P 500 company. PCC was subsequently acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in 2015.

Steve is Principal of Agere Pty Ltd, an advisory and investment company drawing on his capability and professional networks established over 30 years as a CEO and Director of global businesses.
Steve held Director positions with HKEX Hang Seng listed CCRTT, ASX listed ERG Ltd and CEO/GM positions with Vix Technology and global engineering powerhouse Siemens. He has operated in various business sectors including Industrial Automation, Building Technology and Power Systems, having spent 15 years living and working in Asia (China, Hong Kong and Singapore) and Europe (Switzerland).
Steve is currently a Non-Executive Director with Optal Ltd (an innovative global payment solutions company), Vix Technology Ltd (an industry leader in transport ticketing, fare collection/payments), Ventura Bus Lines Pty Ltd (a leading public transport and charter bus service provider in Australia) and Transact1 Pty Ltd (a financial services provider for cash management optimisation).
Steve holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in marketing from Monash University, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry and has 25 years’ experience within automotive and aerospace manufacturing. Prior to joining Orbital in 2019 Andrew held senior operational management roles with BAE Systems UK and HELLA New Zealand.
Andrew previously ran Orbital's Operations team as the General Manager Operations, and was also Interim CEO from September 2023 to March 2024. He was appointed by the Orbital Board as Executive Director in January 2025.
Andrew’s significant technical and operational expertise, combined with his ownership of our AS9100 aerospace disciplines, was crucial to building a mature manufacturing capability for the aerospace industry.

Grant was appointed to the Orbital Board as a Non-Executive Director on 1 December 2023. Dr. Lukey is an experienced industry executive with a background in Chemical Engineering. He holds a PhD in minerals processing and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
He is currently the CEO and Managing Director of Coogee Chemicals, a board member on Chemistry Australia and the Kwinana Industries Council. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Chemical College for Engineers Australia.
Customer Base
Our customers are global defence and commercial UAV manufacturers who demand high-performance propulsion systems. We support defence organisations needing reliable heavy-fuel engines for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and tactical operations. Commercial UAV manufacturers rely on our modular solutions for applications like surveying, mapping, environmental monitoring, and industrial inspections. We also serve government agencies and contractors using UAVs for public safety, border control, and emergency response.
